Helping Our Communities<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

We believe in giving back to our local communities, places where so many ILG staff live or grew up. As well as charity fundraising, we provide employment opportunities for disadvantaged young people and those with learning challenges.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our Charity of the Year \u2013 Chestnut Tree House<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In 2026-2027, we are supporting Chestnut Tree House \u2013 a children\u2019s charity providing hospice care services and community support for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. Thanks to support from the local community, children and families who know they don\u2019t have long together have the chance to live life to the full and say goodbye in the way that is right for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supporting Aldingbourne Trust WorkAid<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We work closely with Aldingbourne Trust, a Sussex charity focused on improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and\/or autism. By participating in the Aldingbourne Trust WorkAid initiative, we provide paid employment to individuals challenged by lifelong learning disability, helping to grow their skills and confidence in a fast-moving, inclusive work environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kickstarting Careers for Young People<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In 2021 we offered 27 local unemployed young people job placements across our warehouse facilities as part of the DWP\u2019s Kickstart Scheme. ILG gave each Kickstarter six months of guaranteed paid work, tailored training and help with CV writing, job searching tips and interview techniques. So far, 10 participants have gone on to secure permanent or fixed-term contracts at ILG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
