ILG and Yusen Logistics: a New Strategic Alliance

ILG is pleased to announce its acquisition by Yusen Logistics, a leading player in international ocean freight, air freight and contract logistics. The new partnership, starting on 1st August 2018, marks the latest exciting chapter in ILG’s success story as one of the UK’s fastest growing fulfilment and delivery specialists.

The alliance provides ILG customers access to fully integrated end-to-end logistics services with a global reach. Yusen’s expertise in customs brokerage and cross-border logistics, along with their European network, gives ILG customers access to an extra 82 locations, 7 million square feet of warehousing and an end-to-end portfolio of supply chain services.

‘Partnering with Yusen represents a huge opportunity for our customers and our people’, writes ILG Managing Director Mike Stephenson. ‘Going forward, our customers will see new, enhanced services as well as the familiar high standards of care they’ve come to expect from us.’

Plugging into ILG’s specialist knowledge, people and infrastructure enables Yusen Logistics to offer complementary solutions in the e-commerce fulfilment space, which is experiencing rapidly rising demand across Europe and beyond.

Andy Fitt, Managing Director of Yusen Logistics (UK) Ltd, writes: ‘This acquisition reinforces our commitment to continued investment in the UK and we’re delighted to be joining forces with ILG. Our businesses complement each other perfectly and together we bring a new and compelling proposition to the market.’

There will be no changes to the current ILG management team and it is ‘business as usual’ for all ILG customers. ILG and Yusen Logistics share a commitment that the new alliance will deliver a more successful future for all their customers and employees.
