ILG is excited to announce that we have won 2 of the United Kingdom Warehousing Association’s 2022 Awards!
We’re delighted to have picked up the Logistics Service Provider of the Year Award, and Jack Fountain, Warehouse Manager at our Gatwick site, won Young Employee of the Year!
We celebrated with the other nominees in style at the Royal Lancaster Hotel. Having been selected as a finalist for 4 award categories, we were quietly hopeful for a win, and we were thrilled to receive our awards from John Humphrys at the event in London.
The Logistics Service Provider of the Year Award was to recognise a highly professional, motivated and well-led UKWA member company that demonstrates best practice and total commitment to UKWA’s key principles of working safely, ethically and profitably.
Jack Fountain – who joined ILG as an apprentice at 17 years old and is now responsible for a 40,000 sq ft warehouse in Gatwick at age 22 – won Young Employee of the Year. This award recognises a young individual who clearly demonstrates sound personal attributes and a high level of competency, combined with an enthusiasm for logistics and clear potential for the future. UKWA said that Jack “represents all that is best about our industry, and UKWA is proud to be able to recognise role models like these, who we hope will be part of our drive to attract more young talent to the sector.”

According to UKWA CEO Clare Bottle, the judging panel faced some difficult decisions:
“The number and quality of entries for our Awards was fantastic,” she said. “We were proud to read of the achievements and innovations of our members and choosing just three finalists proved impossible in some categories!”
Tom Ashley, CEO picked up the Logistics Service Provider of the Year for ILG at the ceremony, and said “I couldn’t be prouder of our achievements – there were some big players in the running, and I am delighted that our hard work and passion have been recognised by UKWA. I picked up the award on behalf of you all, as this is thanks to you, our wonderful ILG Team.”
