Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, which may include early, late and weekend shifts

The role

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Warehouse Manager to join us at our new 180k square foot facility in Brackmills. As an Assistant Warehouse Manager you are responsible for all Operational Management including, but not limited to, adherence to and improvement of SLAs, ensuring client satisfaction and ensuring labour is skilled and measured to achieve targets.
Other responsibilities include:

  • Leading by example to ensure all Shift Managers, Section Managers and Team Leaders make decisions that create win-win situations for both labour control and client success
  • Ensuring full compliance of Health & Safety and proactively managing risk
  • Supporting the Warehouse Manager and Regional Manager to fully understand client challenges
  • Working closely with the Sales and Implementation teams to make informed decisions of new business opportunities
  • Ensuring staff training targets are upheld and taking full responsibility for talent management and succession planning
  • Sharing best practice
  • Building a strong team ethos within the warehouse and wider business
  • Making cost-based decisions in line with ILGs growth strategy
  • Conducting informative daily briefings to the team
  • Deputising for the Warehouse Manager

What we are looking for

  • Track record of warehouse management (preferably in a 3rd party logistics environment)
  • Resilience in a fast-paced, multi contract, omnichannel (wholesale/retail and e-commerce) high volume environment
  • Sound financial acumen
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Energy, vision and leadership with confident decision making
  • Experience of working with high numbers of both permanent and temporary staff
  • Experience of working with WMS software platforms
  • A passion for managing and developing people with a high level of resilience
  • Forward thinking with a solutions-based approach]
  • Excellent attention to detail
