Andy Lightfoot, CEO, Space NK

Andy is a modern, digitally-native CEO with a background spanning a host of retail disciplines across both omni and pureplay retail. This includes senior leadership positions in global organisations and Private Equity SMEs, highly successful organisations and failing ones. This broad experience, combined with years of exposure to analytical and creative inputs, has given him a unique perspective on how to grow businesses. Now leading Space NK, a luxury beauty retailer within a Private Equity environment, he has divested one division for nine figures and steered the brand onto a path of growth, going from low single digits to three consecutive years of over 25% like-for-likes. In doing so, Space NK has gone from High Street heritage brand to the global challenger in beauty retail.

Nnenna Onuba, Beauty M&A Advisor & Investor

Nnenna Onuba, a seasoned corporate finance expert (ex-Rothschild & PwC), brand founder and active angel investor, plays a pivotal role in the beauty industry. As Managing Director of 21 Road Capital Advisers, a specialised Beauty Corporate Finance consultancy, she leverages over 20 years of M&A and strategic acumen. Notably, she orchestrated the successful sale of Nailberry, a premium non-toxic cosmetics brand. Combining her experience as a beauty founder and angel investor, Nnenna empowers fellow entrepreneurs to fundraise for growth and realise enterprise value through M&A. An Imperial College engineering graduate and trustee to education-focused organisations, she champions both business innovation and education advancement.

Joel Edmondson, CEO, Hair by Sam McKnight

Having started his career as a consultant with McKinsey focusing on retail, tech and consumer, Joel spent three years at one of Britain’s most loved High Street stores, Marks & Spencer. Working directly with the executive board to develop and implement its turnaround plan, he then moved into a new AI division, becoming MD of Try Tuesday and leading the vision of AI-assisted styling to a 400k membership. Staying in the digital world, his next move was as UK Head of Grocery for Deliveroo, scaling the business by 6000% in its partnership grocery delivery unit with Waitrose, Sainsburys and the Co-Op, again helping transform UK consumer behaviour. Landing in beauty, he is now CEO of a brand created by another of Britain’s greats – Sam McKnight, the iconic hairdresser. Joel is driving a business built around huge experience, expertise and legendary stories to deliver accessible professional formulations for UK beauty consumer hair transformations.

Tom Ashley, MD, ILG (International Logistics Group)

Tom is Managing Director of ILG, specialists in efficient, added-value e-commerce and retail fulfilment for premium beauty and wellness brands. Rising from the shop floor to lead the fast-growing ILG business and its 500 employees across the UK and EU, Tom has worked in the logistics industry for over 15 years. His drive and passion for shaping and building growth-centric logistics solutions has supported the ascent of a raft of iconic challenger beauty brands, including Charlotte Tilbury, Trinny London, The INKEY List and Jones Road. Tom’s relentless focus is on enriching brand value by curating exceptional experiences for the end-customer.

Coraline Millena, Co-Founder, Millena (Luxury Performance, Strategy & Creative Agency)

Coraline is co-founder of Millena, an agency known for its expertise in propelling DTC brands to new heights by putting performance, strategy and creative at the heart of the client’s media approach. Since launching, Millena has worked with growing DTC lifestyle brands such as Dr. Barbara Sturm, Omorovicza, Earl of East and Rhode Skin. Prior to founding Millena, Coraline spearheaded digital and marketing transformation for brands such as Burberry, Charlotte Tilbury, Estee Lauder and La Mer. A specialist in media and brand marketing, Coraline is a lover of great advertising and media, and on the personal side a true beauty enthusiast.

Moderator: Noelle Shine, CEO, Vibe Partners

Noelle has more than 30 years of experience in the beauty industry and was part of the original management team at Charlotte Tilbury Beauty, where she developed the global customer, distribution and trading strategy for the first three years. Since then, Noelle has worked as a management consultant, supporting the development of over 25 independent beauty brands, including Trinny London, Code 8 and VIEVE. Noelle has built a career around her obsession with the consumer. She started on the shop floor at Harrods, followed by 11 years in senior management roles at The Estée Lauder Companies. She understands the importance of the high-touch experience and uses her deep understanding of the consumer to successfully translate that experience digitally.
